When you sign up for SMS trip notifications, we collect your mobile phone number. That’s it. We don’t ask for your name, your home port, or anything else. Your phone number is used solely to send you notifications when AWOOGA gets underway and is stored securely in our systems.
When you visit our website, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. This is routine navigational data that helps us keep the site running smoothly.
How We Use Your Information
Your phone number is used for one purpose only — to send you SMS notifications when AWOOGA connects and is active. We will never use it to send you marketing messages, promotions, or anything unrelated to vessel activity.
We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.
SMS Messaging
By subscribing to our notifications, you agree to receive SMS messages from AWOOGA. Message frequency varies depending on vessel activity — typically one message per voyage. Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.
You can drop anchor and unsubscribe at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message you receive from us
- Using the unsubscribe option on our website portal
Once you unsubscribe, you will receive no further messages. If you wish to re-subscribe, you may do so at any time through the website.
Third-Party Services
We use Telnyx and Twillio to deliver SMS notifications. Your phone number is transmitted to Telnyx or Twillio solely for the purpose of message delivery. Telnyx’s and Twillio’s own privacy policy governs their handling of that data. We do not authorize Telnyx, Twillio, or any other party to use your information for any other purpose.
Data Retention
We retain your phone number in our subscriber list for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your record is marked as opted out. You may request complete removal from our records at any time by contacting us directly.
Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information from unauthorized access. However, no system is completely watertight, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
Our website and notification service are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
